What’s nifty about this project?
VolunteerConnect is a hyperlocal social network allowing volunteers to connect with organisations that meet their interests. The interface is clear and friendly, and users are guided through the process of setting up an account and applying for their first position. A short video, which acts as an advertisement and guided tour, sets the tone for VolunteerConnect: a service for engaged students who need an easier way to fit volunteering opportunities into their active lives.
Tools, frameworks, and philosophies employed in this project:
The 960 CSS grid system, HTML5 video (plays well with Flash-less devices), Final Cut Pro X, Apple Motion, and the belief that we can use the web to enable people to do good.
